At the historic KRE Radio Station Building, 601 Ashby Ave., Berkeley. Enter on Shellmound
Saturday, July 18th, 10 AM - 2 PM... Gates open at 9:00 AM
$5 Donation at the Gate. Children free.

Master of Ceremonies:
Carter B. Smith - Legendary Bay Area Broadcaster & Member of the
Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame - Class of 2007

Live Musical performance:
The Hot House Swing Band - Playing music of the 1920s and '30s
in the style of The Hot Club of Paris

A Live Radio Play:
The Broadcast Legends - Will present "The KQW Story", a live re-creation, (with sound effects),
of the famous radio play from 1945 that starred Jack Webb, Ken Ackerman and Clancy Cassell.
Starting in 1909, it chronicles the first broadcaster, Charles D. 'Doc' Herrold
and his San Jose station KQW, which later became KCBS.

Where is KRE? From I-80 East, take the Ashby Ave/Shellmound Exit. Take the Shellmound turnoff. At the stop sign turn left onto Shellmound. Go across the bridge and make the first left into the gate. From I-80 West, take the Ashby Ave. Exit. Go under the bridge & make a right turn on 7th St. Go right on Folger. Go left on Hollis. Go right on 67th & then right on Shellmound, across the bridge and left into the gate.
