Bob Hope 84

Vocalist Frances Langford
Vocalist Frances Langford.

There is no guest star of this show, so it is a little hard for us to date it for you.  We found that Goldin lists the AFRS version of the December 12, 1944 Pepsodent show as #85, plus OTRR shows the December 5, 1944 show with no listing for a guest star.    (If it is December 5, 1944, then we have just brought you a show that appears unavailable in a digital format.)

Neither of them tell when Hope and company appeared at this military base.  If anyone reading this can give us any more information that would help, we would be glad to hear from you.

And remember, if you want to help us continue to bring these free downloads to you, please help suppport us in our effort to buy our building by clicking here.  And, of course, your comments are always appreciated.

Bob Hope 84 – from El Toro El Toro Marine Corps Air Base, Irvine, California

First song Gonna See My Baby (Skinnay Ennis)

The program ends early, so the disc ends with a vocal by Skinnay Ennis and a few instrumentals.

    1. Thank you, Kurt. You’ve given me another source to confirm identification of shows.

And while there might be one of these shows floating around (I sure couldn’t find it), I hope this encoding offers folks a nice alternative in case the other is in poorer condition.

  1. I don’t know the answer to the question about the Bob Hope Show but would like to give my thanks for sharing another great episode with those of us in the OTR community. Thank you for your hard work.
